The Storm

The earth rumbles as the sky turns dark.
I listen quietly as the storm gathers.

Lightning splits the sky. Thunder follows.
Rain falls—washing the ground,
cleansing, renewing, giving life.

I lift my hands in the storm.
What breaks the sky also shapes me.

I stand in the roar and choose worship.
Not because the storm is gentle,
but because I am held within it.

Safe.

The One who allows the storm is faithful.

Psalm 107:28-31 “Yet when they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, the Lord brought them out of their distress. He calmed the storm and its waves quieted down. So they rejoiced that the waves became quiet, and he led them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his gracious love and for his awesome deeds on behalf of mankind.”

Psalm 89:8 “Lord God All-Powerful, there is no one like you. You are strong, Lord, and always faithful.”
