Jesus Alone

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

I noticed it first in Acts 3:6 when Peter tells the lame man to walk in the name of Jesus Christ. The power of His Name. It was the name of Jesus that strengthened him, it was the faith which comes through Jesus that gave the man health. (3:16)

MP900430526The name of Jesus, the Prince of Life, the Righteous One, it is in His name alone we are saved. It is in His Name alone we find help and hope for today. It is by the name of Jesus Christ who was crucified, and raised from the dead that we can stand. Jesus alone saves us. It’s the name of Jesus that heals our eternal soul.

Peter and John were told not to speak in the name of Jesus again. (Acts 4:17-20) Why? Because there is power in His name.  The sick are heal and demons flee to the power of His name.

The power of His name. It’s been on my mind a lot lately. This name of Jesus. Jesus who is Holy. JESUS. The One who gives me life and speaks into my heart when I am afraid, worried or overwhelmed.

Jesus, a name that speaks of love, grace, sacrifice, mercy, judge, peace, friend and so much more. Jesus alone saves me, comforts me and helps me see truth.

Today I was driving down the road, in tears, overwhelmed and all I could think to say was, “Jesus, Jesus, JESUS!” In that moment my heart calmed, my tears stopped and I knew He heard me.

He saw my heart, He heard my cry.

Jesus.

Jesus alone.

”You were made holy, and you were made right with God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” 1 Cor 6:11
