As I read Psalms 107 I couldn’t help but see how easily the words applied to my life. To the lives of those who have been redeemed. I think too often we read the words as something that happened long ago and do not take the time to personalize them. It’s when we personalize God’s words to our own life that they truly come alive. This is my response. This is how God spoke through His word a spoke personally to me today.
I have been redeemed and will give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His lovingkindness is everlasting. He has redeemed me from the enemy of this world. He redeemed me while I wandered in the land, tired, hungry and thirsty. Living in rebellion to the words of God; misery was my constant companion.
There was nothing I found that satisfied my soul. Nothing I found that would save me.
It was then that I cried out to Him. I cried out to as death was about to overcome me in the desert. I cried out to the Lord, God, my Redeemer and He delivered me. He delivered me from darkness and the shadow of death.
He satisfied my hungry and thirsty soul. He filled me up with what is good. He filled me with His Spirit.
For this reason I give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness and for His wonderful gifts toward me!
