His Truth

Preach the word of God. Be persistent, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear.  They will reject the truth and follow strange myths.  But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at bringing others to Christ. Complete the ministry God has given you. 2 Tim 4:2-6

My Thoughts

There are those who are pastors, teachers, leaders and missionaries in other countries who have been imprisoned and murdered for their faith. My prayer today is not only for those who suffer for the gospel sake but I also pray that I might be willing to stand up and speak the gospel in a culture that continues to grow hostile toward God. Our world increasingly seems to drift further and further away from truth. But it’s not just the world. Many parts of the church grow lukewarm. Many parts of the body of Christ follow after another Jesus. They no longer follow truth but would rather follow what their itching ears want to hear. They give heed to a kind of spirituality but reject truth.

We need to be a people that stands firm on the whole counsel of God. We need to be a church that will not compromise. We need to be a body that seeks corporately, and individually the heart of God through His Word. We need to be children who study the Word of God for ourselves. A time is coming that this world, here in America, will no longer tolerate those that stand against sin, we must be ready. We must be willing to stand on God’s side regardless of the cost.

  A Prayer

Oh Father my prayer is simple yet difficult, I want to stand firm for truth. Help me to be bold and willing to speak out against that which breaks your heart. Show me how to fight against the sin yet love all men. Create in me a willingness to speak out even if it means loss of friends, job, social status, family or freedom. Give me knowledge and discernment. Help me to patiently correct, rebuke and encourage people with good teaching. Help me to be persistent and not give up when things grow hard and it seems everyone is against me. Oh Father help me to be a light in this dark world, to preach bold the gospel of Christ in all that I do and say. Amen.
