In the past I have “fasted” from FB for a week or two without any real goals. This time I have goals. I have a purpose and I would like to share this with you and invite you to journey with me.
My goal is take the time I would normally spend on Social Media and spend the time in the Word, giving me more time. A time that is purposeful. I want it to be a time where I intentionally enter into the desert with the Lord and do battle with the world, my flesh and my enemy. It will be a time of intensified prayer. It will be a time to root out a particular sin, giving up the old and putting on the new.
I realize this in coinciding with Lent, but since I don’t practice Lent nor do I attend a church that practices it I am not calling it as such. In reality it is a journey of seeking His heart with my eyes on the cross and what Christ did there. It’s a journey with my eyes on His sacrifice, my sin and His victory over sin.
If you want to join me and do not already follow me just enter your email on the left and Everlasting Joy will be delivered directly to your inbox. I also have my blog settings to automatically post to Facebook, Google and Twitter. So even though I may not be on them my post will still post there for you to read and you can follow me on any of those social sites if you do not already!
Also if you decide to join I would love to hear from you either in the comments or by posting on your own blog what God is doing in your heart during this time. I am fasting from Social Media, but you may choose to fast whatever God lays on your heart. Or perhaps you do not feel led to fast from anything but just want to follow along with me on this 6 week journey! That is okay too!
There is no button you need to post, no need to link back here if you decided to join me. Just leave a comment and let me know if you post a blog so I can come over for a visit. I don’t want to build up my “following” I just want to build up my sisters.

I am linking up with these lovely ladies!!

Sharon, how exciting that you are being intentional and setting more time aside to sit at His feet during Lent! I've thought about having a "media free" day once a week or so, but haven't gotten there yet. You've given me much to think about.

I've tried the FB fast before and it is hard. Thank you for linking and sharing your heart at The Weekend Brew!
