For The Weary Soul

Each of us grows weary at various times in our lives. Many life seasons cause By marin, published on 11 November 2012<br />Stock Photo - image ID: 100111933more times of weariness than other times. We grow weary of sleepless nights, chronic pain, loneliness, goodbyes, lost relationships, battles that are constantly fought, and we grow weary of this earthly life. The list could go on.

My encouragement for today is that we never have to stay weary for we have hope living in us. We have within us a source of strength that will see us through to the next season...

But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.
I lay down and slept ; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me. Psalms 3: 3-5

God thank you so much that you our my shield, your protection is all around us. You are our glory, our abundance and the One who lifts us up. You alone sustain us and our salvation belongs to you.

The Greek word for lifts means to be exalted, to be uplifted and cause to grow up. He is the One who lifts my head. Head in the Greek means top, total, sum. God is the One who causes my total being to be uplifted! That is praiseworthy!

It is easy at times to look to other things or other people to lift us up but it is God, in His glory, who lifts us up! God is the one who sustains us, which means he upholds you. We can lean on Him, and rest upon Him. Sustain in this verse can also mean refresh, revive. What better way to be refreshed than to let the Lord your God revive you.

May our prayer be that our Father will refresh and revive the soul. That He might speak to us this day and let us know He alone will sustain us when we are weary of the battles of this life.

Amen? AMEN!

My precious sisters, run to Him, for He alone will sustain you. He will encourage your heart and soul.
