FEELING Alone, Speaking TRUTH

Have you ever felt totally alone, forsaken, overlooked or rejected? I believe we all have at one time or another. We have been that one sitting alone on the outside looking in. We have felt forgotten when our friends make plans but don’t include us. We have been rejected by parents, a spouse, children and friends.

It’s a dangerous place to be, forgotten and alone. Our enemy knows we are in a weakened state and he attacks. It’s then that the whispers begin in our minds and we spiral down into an even deeper pit. We begin to believe lies and head toward discouragement, depression and despair.

Let us be reminded that even if we are rejected and forgotten by friends, family and loved ones that we have One who promises to never leave or forsake us.

So if you find yourself in this place, then join me in reflecting on truth.

"Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land ; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." Gen 28:15

May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers ; may He not leave us or forsake us,  that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, which He commanded our fathers.1 Kings 8:57-58

Then David said to his son Solomon, "Be strong and courageous, and act ; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished. 1 Chronicles 28:20

The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying, "I have loved you with an everlasting love ; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness. Jeremiah 31:3

"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:16-18

"I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU," Heb. 13:5b

There are so many truths in God’s word to remind us that He is for us (Rom 8).  He is faithful to us and will keep His promises (Heb. 10). We are not alone (John 8).

And finally let us remember that Jesus understands, He too has suffered rejection. He has been forsaken and alone. We have not yet suffered unto death. (1 Peter)

I have realized over the last several years that, while I may FEEL a certain way and  lies might be floating around in my mind, I do have a choice. I can give into my feelings and dwell on the lies or I can choose to take up the Word of GOD and do battle. We must wage war on our emotions and the lies the enemy would love for us to believe.

The feelings of isolation, abandonment come from the enemy and are meant to separate us and to destroy us. We must be aware of His schemes. We must KNOW truth, SPEAK truth, BELIEVE truth and WALK in truth.

Oh Father help me to take my eyes off me and be focused on You. Help me to see and live truth in my circumstances. Help me to understand that even IF I was forsaken, rejected and alone that You are with me and You are more than I will ever need.
