A Radiant Bride

Three weeks ago my youngest son was married. As I watched him stand there waiting for his bride I could tell that he was trying hard to keep his emotions from surfacing. He was looking down, trying to gain control.

His bride was walking across the lawn with her father. The groom had not yet seen her. They passed behind a tree. It was about at time that the groom looked up to see his bride step out from behind the tree. As she stepped out the rays of the sun shone down on her creating a picture of pure radiance.

Now tears flow freely down the bridegrooms face. This was his bride, the one he has waited for. She has prepared herself for this day and now she stands as a radiant bride ready to meet her groom.

He watches her walk down the isle with such emotion on his face, love in his heart. Oh how he loves her. His heart soars in shear delight for he knows that she is now his forever.

As I watched this moment unfold that day I have not been able to stop thinking about it. It was such a perfect picture of that day when Christ will stand waiting for His bride.

I want my Bridegroom’s heart to be pleased because I have careful prepared for that day.

I want His heart to be delighted as I am presented to Him.

I desire to be a radiant bride because I have allowed His radiance to reflect through me.

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." Rev. 19:7

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. Rev. 21:2

  3. This brought tears to my eyes. Especially since my youngest just proposed. They're planning a beach wedding. Sand. Water. Sky. Bride. Groom. God. I'll be a wreck. :)
