There was a time when the enemy was able to covince me that my sin was greater or even unforgiveable. But not today!!
We all have committed adultery, we have all played the harlot in some way or another. While I know this story in Ezekiel applies to all of us I think it's important to make scripture personal to our own story and remember what God has done for us.
As I read Ezekiel I thought, "when was the last time I thanked God for saving me?" "Or when was the last time I remembered what He saved me from?" Wasn't that Israel's problem - they forgot what God saved them from. They forget who/what they were when God found them.
When we forget that it was God who found us in our sinfulness, when we forget what God has given us I think we begin to wander from Him. When we forget God we start to look to other people and things.
Remembering who I was before God found me and remember the road I was traveling keeps me before the face of God. Without Him I would once again be the harlot.
So remember who you were before Christ found you and once again fall on your face before God and be thankful that He saved you from a life of harlotry.
