Abide in Me - WFW

Photobucket
God calls us to abide in Him – to abide – to remain, to sojourn, to tarry
I am called to abide in Him and bear fruit
His word is to abide in me
I am to abide in His love by keeping His commands
In doing these things the Father is glorified and His joy is in me and my joy is made full.

For more read John 15:1-11.

Prov 4:23 says I am to guard my heart and it will be the well spring of my life.

Gordon MacDonald says that to guard the heart is a deliberate and disciplined choice we must make. I must choose to keep my heart healthy and it must be constantly protected and maintained.

Jesus says in Luke10:42 “but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Mary chose to sit in obedience at the feet of Jesus. I saw something interesting; it’s not that she just sat and listened, but that she was obedient to what God called her to do. God’s will for Mary was to sit and rest, to listen at the feet of Jesus, and while it might have been easy for her to appease her sister and help. Mary chose obedience.God calls us to obedience also.

He desires us to sit at His feet and tarry awhile....

  5. That is good! So many times when we think of obedience we think it requires getting up and doing something, but you are so right, we do need time to sit and rest at His feet...

    Thanks so much for sharing!
