O God, You are my God ; I shall seek You earnestly ; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live ; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.
When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches,
For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
But those who seek my life to destroy it, Will go into the depths of the earth.
They will be delivered over to the power of the sword ; They will be a prey for foxes.
But the king will rejoice in God ; Everyone who swears by Him will glory, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.
We Live in a world where there is no refreshment for our souls. It is only God that satisfies. When we are completely satisfied in God we can lift up our praises to Him even during those times when things seem so dry. Oh how our souls should cry out to God, the one true God for only He will bring refreshment to the soul.
Oh God my heart longs to be refreshed today. Help me see and feel your presence today in a way that refreshes my spirit. Oh how my soul clings to you for I know that it is in YOU and YOU alone will I be fully satisfied.

ReplyDeleteHow true, Sharon! I have had this incredible longing recently...feeling like I need some deep deep refreshment...experiencing such discouragement inside and LONGING for refreshment. It is not to be found! I am having to choose to focus on Jesus, even when I don't FEEL refreshed. It is one of the hardest things I have ever faced.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful encouraging package! You have no idea what getting something like that does for me, especially right now...to be reminded that there is someone who is walking the road with me. I appreciated it so much. Brian just brought it in this morning. THANK YOU.

ReplyDeleteYour quote about how we live in a world where there is no refreshment for our souls is so true. It's kinda funny, because I've been playing/singing that Cademan's Call song lately-(This World.)This post just reafirmed that reminder in my mind. Thanks!
