Thankful Thursday

I've been thinking a lot lately about how God sets us free from our guilt, sin, shame, bondages etc... while it is a process that we walk throughout, I do believe that withOUT the understanding that our God is a personal God and He wants an intimate relationship with us it will be nearly impossible to be completely free.

Jesus came that we might be free. Galatians 5:1 says "It was for freedom that Christ set us free ; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery." and John 8:36 says "So if the Son makes you free , you will be free indeed"

How are we free? By knowing TRUTH. Do you know the truth of what God's word says? Do you know it's for you personally? Do you live it? Do you walk in freedom? Or do you walk around as if you are still in bondage - as a slave?

In John 8:32 we are reminded that if we know the truth , then truth will make you free. It's in an intimate love relationship with God that we will come to know that we are free. It's in this relationship that we will understand we ARE loved.

To apply God’s words and promise to ourselves personally instead of Christians in general will be a turning point in our relationship with God. It is so much more than just knowing God's Word it is discovering and personally experiencing God's Word for ourselves. We need to learn how to have a personal and intimate relationship with God's Word that is when we will developed a deep, intimate and VERY personal relationship with God through His Word. It is also how God then developed within us a passion for Him, His Word, to serve and pray!

God I thank you for the spirit you have placed in me that cries out “I want all of you, to feel you, see you, touch you, I want more of You! I want to be what you have called me to me" Everything that is in me longs to KNOW God. To passionately follow after the heart of God.-to know the deeper things of God –to be completely filled up to overflowing… in this I find complete FREEDOM!
