A Wonderful Promise...

For thus says the Lord:
After seventy years are completed at Babylon,
I will visit you and perform My good word toward you
and cause you to return to this place.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
says the Lord thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.
And you will seek Me and find Me,
when you search for Me with all your heart.
I will be found by you, says the Lord,
and I will bring you back from your captivity;
I will gather you from all the nations
and from all the places where I have driven you,
says the Lord,
and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to
be carried away captive.

Jeremiah 29:10-14

I am always amazed at how ofen God brings me back to this promise. He reminds me that He does have plans for me, good plans, plans to prosper me, to grow me. His plans are not evil toward me, regardless of what I might currently be walking through, even when the darkness seems to over come - His plans are good.

But I have a responsiblity. To seek God with my whole heart. He promises that I will find Him in the midst of my current journey if I am seeking Him....looking for Him.

then....

He will bring you back from your captivity....

His plans for you are GOOD!

  7. This is the very section of scripture the Lord spoke to me through a man who was at a prayer meeting where I was, who didn't know me. I had asked for prayer and many of the believers there surrounded me and many prayed but his prayer stood out to me like thunder (and it wasn't because his voice was loud). And I'll never forget it. He prayed, "God has called you to a marathon." And as He spoke those words the Spirit was speaking the Words from this scripture you quoted to me. I immediately got out my Bible (after we were done praying) and wrote the date next to the verse. I knew the Lord was saying to me then, "You chose the path that's gotten you where you are now. But I'm not done with you yet. I will restore you."

Such a treasured verse for me. thanks for sharing and reminding me!
