I'll include the lyrics below.
Your holiness I will pursue
I want the heart of Jesus
Show me the meaning of Your grace
I want to give the world a taste
Of the love of Jesus
Make me salt
Make me light
Let Your holy fire ignite
Reveal Your glory in my life
I am not ashamed
To lift up Your holy name
Make me salt
Make me light
As a city on a hill
A lamp on a stand
Mold me in Your image
The work of Your hand
I do want the heart of Jesus, to have the love of Jesus for this world. I want Jesus to reveal His glory in my life. I don't want to be afraid to lift up His name in the world. I do want to give the world a taste of Jesus!

Praying you have a wonderful weekend!

This is an awesome song! I loved it. This is a subject I have been thinking over too. I read through your last several post and I echo many of your sentiments. My husband and I just had a conversation this morning about the friends we hang out with. I think it has to be a balance between our Christian and non Christian friends or else we do end up in a bubble. It's tough to balance it sometimes.
ReplyDeleteTHis is one of my favorite songs!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
Thanks for the reminder!

Excellent song! It is an excellent prayer for us all! May we truly be salt and light! Ignite us with Your holy fire, Father!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this!
Oh, and your blog is simply beautiful!
Blessings! Thanks for sharing your heart for Him with us!
I hadn't heard that song before. Sure goes along with your thoughts of late!

ReplyDeleteWe LOVE Jami! Her new cd is on my want list...
She came to a retreat that we put on for our inner city youth, and gave all the kids cds for free, knowing their situation. Her heart is really for the Lord, wanting to make Him known. Actually, it's funny you mention her and this song, cause I've just been looking online about her (like 2 days ago!), since we'd not heard much about her latest stuff.
This is a great song!! You know this is why I love this Saturday meme! I've heard this song before but not by this singer! I love it!! Thanks for sharing. I want to be like Jesus soo much!
ReplyDeleteI've heard this song before, but not by her. I love it! I enjoyed yesterdays post too, but couldn't get my comment to post. I had that happen once before here. Both times the verification letters wouldn't show up. Hope this one goes through! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this song! I want to "give the world a taste Of the love of Jesus".
ReplyDeleteI love this song and I love Jami Smith (I actually posted this same song last month). She is so very talented!! If you don't have her CDs I highly recommend them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my site. I can relate to prodigal teens (already been there and I'm there again with another). I am glad your son has come back to the Lord!
Have a very Happy Mom's Day!

Jami is great! She did the music for a number of Vicki Courtney's Yada Yada & Between events. She is a wonderful gal, and such a great role model of someone who is sold out for God.
ReplyDeleteLove It!! Thanks, and Have a Blessed Mothers Day:)

She's great. I love her voice. As she smiled and sang, I could tell that she is really enjoying this and worshiping the Lord. My favorite part was - "I want to give the world a taste of the love of Jesus." I've got to look up more of her music.
ReplyDeleteI haven't listened to the song yet, I will for sure, but real quick, just wanted to share a "must see" while in Arizona...The Grand Canyon, if you haven't been yet.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots a beautiful, natural sites in the Sedona area. I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit!

ReplyDeletethe salt and light concept has always stuck with me (learning it as a teen). it's easy to understand the concept and effects on this world.
