No man for any considerable period can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be the true. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne, The Scarlet Letter
Oh Father why is it so difficult to be who you created me to be? Why do I try to hide behind the mask of perfection, of 'having it all together?" Why do I fear that other women will not like me? That I might be too much? Or Not enough?
Why Oh God can I not see myself the way you see me? God continue revealing the real me.

Beautiful, Sharon. The words, the music, your reflections ..... thank you for sharing, and I'm so glad God led me here today.
ReplyDeletei love the quote from nathaniel hawthorne. it's so true.
ReplyDeleteand so are your feelings... why do we try to be someone or something that we're not? why can't we be satisfied with who God made us to be? questions that most women struggle with. i appreciate you voicing them.
Sharon,
ReplyDeleteI can SO relate. I wrote something along the same lines when I finished my Wizard of Oz series with the Wizard himself.
Do you think these thoughts are more prevelant with women in full time ministry???
