PhotobucketIt was a sad, sad day in our household today. My Dh and I both had eye appointments and we both needed bi-focals! The worst part? I'm younger than him! He couldn't wait to remind me of that little fact.

It took me about an hour and a half to pick out a pair of glasses. Every pair I REALLY liked were too small to fit the bi-focals in. ugh!! I was so frustrated!! So I finally had to resign myself to the fact that I couldn't buy a pair of thin, hip glasses. I'm old...I'm just going to have to accept that fact and move on. If I could wear contacts I would, but they always cause headaches...maybe I could just live with the headaches...*sigh* I'd better just except the facts as they are and move on huh?

  1. i had the same sad day last month. i'll probably have to have bifocals, too. i have to wait for my blood sugar levels to even out before they give me a prescription. hopefully that will be here soon. it's hard walking around with everything blurry :]

  2. That is one nice thing about already wearing glasses. When it comes time for bi-focals no one needs to know.

  3. This is funny, I have been wearing bi-focals since I was in my 30's. I did feel old when I first started wearing them, but its great to be able to see.
They need to be more stylish.
    Good luck with them.

  4. Sharon,

Isn't there a verse somewhere that says something like, "Bifocals are a crown and tiara of the aged.." I really think there is... ;O)

  5. I had that sad day last year. I can't wear contacts because my eyes are too dry. Be prepared for an adjustment period, but once that's passed, it's nice to be able to read again!
