Isaiah 42:10-13

Sing to the Lord a new song,
And His praise from the ends of the earth,
You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it,
You coastlands and you inhabitants of them!Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice,
The villages that Kedar inhabits.
Let the inhabitants of Sela sing,
Let them shout from the top of the mountains.Let them give glory to the Lord,
And declare His praise in the coastlands.The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies.

Are you singing a new song of praise to God today? Regardless of what our circumstances are at this moment we can praise God. There are so many reason to praise Him.

Shout for joy, O heavens;
rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains!
For the Lord comforts his people and
will have compassion on his afflicted ones(Is 49:13)
For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord
endures forever.(Ps 117:2)The Lord's right hand is lifted high;
the Lord's right hand has done mighty things!(Ps 118:16)

Jesus was slain,
and with His blood
He purchased us for God.(Rev 5:9)

I love the picture that comes to my mind as I read verse 13. An image of a warrior crying out for battle! God will prevail against the enemy. God did prevail against the enemy at the cross and He continues to do so.
He shall cry, in the preaching of his word.
He shall cry aloud in the gospel woes,
which must be preached with gospel blessings,
to awaken a sleeping world.
He shall conquer by the power of his Spirit.
And those that contradict and blaspheme his gospel,
he shall put to silence and shame;
and that which hinders its progress
shall be taken out of the way.(Matthew Henry Concise)

I am reminded, once again in verse 13 that it is the LORD that does the battle. He will silence those that are against Him. He will deal with those that hinder His work. I am to do that which God calls me to do and let Him do that which He ALONE can do!

  4. YES, YES, and YES!!!!

    You have NO idea what your words have done for me today! I have been reading Joel Osteen's new book, "Become a Better You", and don't you know that today when I was reading he was saying words so very similiar to what you wrote!

    The battle is HIS, not mine...all I have to do is lay it down, be obedient, and stay in the lane that God has ME on!

    Thank you so much for confirming the words God had already laid on my heart!

    Much Love,
    Melissa

  5. Wonderful post! My heart rejoices with the knowledge that God is a strong warrior, who protects weaklings like me. I am so thankful for His protection! I sure would be in a mess without Him!
