Thank You Lord for your Faithfulness...

As I sit here trying to have my quiet time, all is not quiet. All around me there is pounding and noise. There are moments I actually wonder if my roof is going to crumble down on me. I hear voices shouting to one another trying to be heard. Instructions being given. Tears of thankfulness are just below the surface, it's a beautiful noise.

I was in the midst of reading Ps 136 when it all began. The one phrase that is repeated over and over is For His lovingkindness is everlasting. The very first verse begins with "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good" then the last verse "Give thank to the God of heaven for His lovingkindness is everlasting".

Such an appropriate chapter to read this morning. You see, for well over a year we've needed a new roof, but could not afford one. Things have been difficult since I've been unable to work and with kids in college, an unwillingness to go into further debt, and life in general the money well...you know. So we prayed, my husband shared our need with a friend who then began the process of making sure it was taken care of. Today there are about 10-13 people from our church here putting on a new roof. God provided the entire roof for us. "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting."My heart swells up with such thankfulness to God and the people who love us so much. We are so blessed to have family who willingly will give up a Saturday to come and help.

Oh Sovereign God, I thank you with all my heart. I sing praises to You, I bow down and give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth. It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O most High; To declare Your faithfulness by night...For You O Lord, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. How great are Your works, O Lord. (Ps 92:1,2,4)

The Lord is great and good - Amen and Amen!!

  2. Thank you for sharing this - I am blessed by hearing of the faithfulness of your christian friends and God's faithfulness in caring for you. It is hard to admit we have a need, but you know that those who are helping will be blessed by doing this, as you are blessed by receiving. Our God is good!
