He Still Calls Me Son - John Waller

As I read through various blogs tonight I was reminded how many mothers out there are dealing with the heartbreak of a prodigal. Everytime I hear this song I cry, not because of my son, but because of all that God has done in my own life.

One day our prodigals will return home to their heavenly Fathers. Until then we just keep trusting that what God did for us He will also do for them.

My sisters, you are not alone. There are others who understand. We cry with you, we understand your heartache...and break. But even more so there is ONE who understands even better than us...our FATHER. Run to Him and allow Him to ease your broken heart. Allow Him to hold you while you weep for that child you gave birth to...for God weeps with you.

I love you my sisters.

  1. what a nice post. and a beautiful video. my favorite bible story is the prodigal son. that's because i am a prodigal. it makes me so sad to think what i put my God and my family through. it makes me cry to know that God didn't give up on me and that He welcomed me back with open arms.

you're right, we need to support each other during distressing times.

  2. Hi Sharon,
My mother has experienced the prodigal son herself, and unfortunately, she's still waiting. I will share this with her. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I also appreciated the post about respecting your husband. In this day and age, it's very much needed. I have referred my two married daughters to it for them to read, and remind. Thank you.
    Enjoy your day!
    Blessings,
    Karen
