Join AMY for even more "Then Sings My Soul Saturday!"

I was thinking about this song today and while I'm sure the author had other things in mind - my mind began thinking along this line...

To know God, to see His face, to hear His voice not only do we have to seek Him in the quietness of the day but we need to allow Him access to those secret places.

In the secret, in the quiet hour I wait, only for You
Because I want to know You more.

It's only when I allow God into the secret places of my heart that I can know Him more. I need to be willing to surrender every part of my life to Him.

Is there sin that you think is hidden secretly in your heart?

To reach for the highest goal, that I might receive the prize.

Jesus is the highest prize, to be refined into His image, to be with Him. To KNOW Him!

Pressing onward, pushing every hindrance aside, out of my way.
What is hindering you? Do you spend more time doing other things than being with Jesus?

With every breath I breathe I pray...

I want to know You
I want to hear Your voice
I want to know You more
I want to touch You
I want to see Your face
I want to know You more

  1. That is beautiful! I love that song too and I want to be in the secret place with Him all the time!
    Much love.

  2. I really enjoy this song, too! It just makes me want to get up and dance and sing my praises to God. While typically this is a good thing, I always seem to hear it played on the radio when I'm driving... not always a good time for dancing. :)

  3. Yes. I do spend more time doing other things than being with Jesus? And that is exactly what I was thinking when I heard this song. This week, my heart has been saying "I want to know You more." But I haven't been following through to the degree that I want to. It was the perfect song for me to hear.

  4. I love this song. Your post puts my head to thinking. I believe we all have room for Jesus to fill that we are holding back on. Thanks for sharing words that pricked my heart and cause me to focus more on him.

  5. This is a great song and a reminder to "be still and know" and get to know my God and let Him get to know me!

  6. This is such a great song! May it be the song that I sing AND the walk that I walk!
I love what you said about how we need to let Him have access to the "secret" places in our lives. He truly does want to touch every area of our lives! I need to surrender more!
Thanks for sharing this song and what God has been speaking to your heart!

  7. I love this song - I also enjoyed your thoughts about it.

  8. I never really thought of it that way. Thanks for sharing the song today. I have a new perspective!

  9. I love this song too, and it fits so perfectly with your message. Thanks for the reminder : )

  10. Sharon

This is beautiful...I love this song. Fran wrote this week about being in the secrect with Him....
This reminded me of her post.

    Thanks for sharing

  11. I've always thought the song was about exactly what you wrote. As new Christians, it might be about less--just simply "knowing" on a superficial basis, but as we grow, we can only know Him when we let Him into the secret places of our lives and hearts. To ponder today: what part of my heart am I still keeping hidden, so deeply that I am not overtly aware of it??? hmmmmmmmmm

  12. Love this song and the message it brings. We only deceive ourselves when we think we have something "hidden" in our hearts. Our God knows us, and more about us, than we even know ourselves. It is ourselves that we deceive.

  13. Your awesome my friend!! Thanks for the song:)

  14. Such wonderful thoughts, very conficting! Thanks for challenging me to think "What am I withholding, and hiding" or think I'm hiding that keeps me from growing closer to Him!

  15. This is the desire of my heart... to know Him more. I hate that I get so distracted by other things in life sometimes that I forget this and don't spend as much time in my secret place with Him as I should. Thanks for posting this reminder!

  16. one of my favorite praise songs. brings back all kinds of memories with our old youth group.

i love it because it's loud and fast paced. but even more, because of the words. i DO want to know HIM more.

Leave me some joy...
