  1. He has kept my parents, siblings, my son, and me in good health. He has also kept us safe from all harm and danger. Here's my post.
    Thanks for the giveaway. :)

  2. This year, God has shown me how to be a friend, and through that, drew me closer to Him.

All of those books sound wonderful, especially the Beth Moore one. - thanks for the fun giveaway!

  3. Probably won't enter the contest, but my wife finished treatment for her breast cancer this year. I thank the Lord.

  4. what a nice give-away. i would like any of the three. and before i forget it... i love the new banner. perfect!

i'll be honest. my first thought was, "this has not been a very good year." but it only took me a few seconds to change that thinking around and reflect on the many good things God has done for me this year.

the one (actually two) that i'll leave here is how good things have been for my kids this year, and that makes me extremely happy and thankful.

my daughter is in her second year of college and not only doing well, but loving where she's living and getting more involved with the navigators organization.

my son is in his senior year and will graduate with an i.b. diploma. he's a very smart kid, engaging in life, and has a bright future.

  5. Oh, what a wonderful contest!
I have learned so much this year about being content. God's peace.

    I love your header!!

  6. I love your banner!

This year I am thankful for a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery of our daughter. I am also thankful that she is a healthy, happy, and growing 6 month old now! She is the joy of our lives and a total gift from God!!!

I would like the Beth Moore book if I win.

  7. What a neat give-away, Sharon! I love anything by Beth, and the others sound good too.
I think God has shown me this year that *I* am not in control. He is. That's been a tough one for me. I am thankful that my family is all relatively healthy despite all the medical issues this year.

  8. I also love your banner. How true!
What a lovely give-a-way. I love to read, eat chocolate and drink coffee!
This has been an interesting year. God spoke to me after last Christmas that I needed to ask my mom to move to our town. She has many medical needs. Surprisingly, she said she would leave her hometown of 50+ years. God showed me that it really was His will when a handicapped apt. opened up in an apartment complex on the ground floor. He gave me the strength to get her packed and moved (with help). He gave me a desire to have my mother close by, and though he still has a lot of work to do in my heart (patience and such), I know I am on the right track!

    Thanks for letting me share.

  9. Well, can I share something God has been showing me for the past 3 years? He is showing me how to be thankful in ALL situations. We have had a LOT happen the past 3 years, but he has seen us through it all.

Thank you for this giveaway. It is very sweet of you. :D

  10. Wow - God has done so much for me this year. I prayed for His guidance with writing and I'm seeing little rewards left and right.

  11. I have finally figured our that I must make my quiet time/Bible study time a priority. Over kids wants, laundry, meals, etc. So, I now rise at 6 a.m. (before the litlle buckaroos)and spend time rpaying, studying and sometimes just in awe of Him. It makes my whole day better and I am focused on Him which is where our lives should be centered.

  12. God has been really good to our family this year. Our state is in tough economic times now, but we all have stable jobs. Heather has had 2 hospitalizations and is doing well. Andy left for the Army and although we miss him, God has been with us and Andy. He is enjoying what he is doing and we get to see him soon!
Thanks for doing this - I love Beth Moore, don't know Carolyn Mahany but I'm sure that if you enjoy her, she is good!

  13. Thanks for having this give-a-way! I can't wait to see if I win. Where to begin on what God has been showing me! I guess 2 of the biggest things He's taught me this year are: Always go to His word for answers. I really took hold of this in May after a friend at church died. His wonderful wife kept saying "go to His word, Kim, the answers are there". His word has become so much more precious to me since then. Next but certainly not least he has taught me about the sin of "pride" and how it manifests itself in so may ways. It is a constant battle to resist our natural urges to be prideful. I praise our creator for what he has and will continue to show me in 2008 and beyond! To God Be The Glory!!!!

  14. Hi!! Found your site through Mari.I am so thankful for all of my family's health. My daughter is cancer free!! Praise God:) I enjoy Beth Moore, but the others sound good also. thank you for having a give a way.

  15. How thoughtful of you to do this give away.
My small group has been studying about the attributes of God & it has impressed on me that God is so big I can't wrap my brain around it but inspite of His greatness He still knows my name & the exact number of hairs on my head.
The book on Humility sounds interesting.

  16. One thing I have learned from God this year is that even in the bleakest of times, His Light will shine through.

All of the books look like a wonderful read.

  17. Hmmm ... just one thing ? I am thankful for so much and learning all the time ! This life is such a journey and I guess God is teaching me that there really isn't any other way to go through it than with Him. Step by Step, Day by Day. When I try to do it myself ... it stinks !

Don't know if your contest is open world wide. I'm in Australia. However, my whole family is in the States so I could have it sent to them, if I was to win :)

Thanks for doing this ! I did my first give-away recently and it was quite fun !

  18. What a lovely site! I love the banner for the season!!

The Lord has shown me that I can't escape being a pastor's wife, even when people say that they just want me to be their friend. It's a call and a privelege to be a pastor's wife and I'm learning how much having that title effects things around me, even when I don't know it. The Lord has given me much grace through this process, and he's always faithful, even when I'm in denial!

Blessings to you and your family this Christmas season!

  19. God has brought me many friends to encourage
me in my fight with breast cancer..The world is full of loving woman.
    fondly, Deena

  20. I love your blog and found you via Mary .... Is she a sweetie or what??? The one thing that I have learned from God this year is that when fear rushes in to overwhelm us that the Spirit of the Lord rises up to bring us peace... I have confronted fear this year in a way that I never experienced before.... and during those dark times I found Him there in a greater measure........

  21. I'm here via Mary...she knows most of us cannot resist a giveaway:-) What I'm most thankful to God for this past year is my health..for so many years I suffered from agoraphobia and chronic anxiety but this year I've been feeling so much better and can go out and travel again with no problems:-) I know that God is watching over me and cheering me every step that I make forward!! xo

  22. Came over to your site from Diana's.
What a neat idea. All those books sound great. I love to read.

I am thankful for friends and family both near and far.
I am also thankful for my kids, husbands, and my good health.
God has been there for us in the good times and the bad.

  23. Good Afternoon Sharon,
It's so nice to meet you. I am here by way of Mary of Mary's Writing Nook. I would love to be entered in the giveaway. I love giveaways. LOL. And what way to win a good book with some good coffee and some other good surprises to go along with it. I have my own blog called Karen's Korner. Feel free to visit anytime you want to. You are more than welcomed there. Thanks for hosting this giveaway and Congratulations as it being your first giveaway. I am thankful for God providing us with another home to live in. Karen H.

  24. Hi, i cam over from Mary's writing nook. I love a contest and nothing better than sittin with a book, a cuppa, and and afgan.
I like the 3rd book, sounds interesting.
God has been so good to us this year. J and I are recovering from a big financial set back which started in '97. We have been a little concerned about the amount we would have to live on once we're retired. God has shown us that we're going to be fine. Of course, we knew all along he would provide but it is nice to see it revealed.

  25. Hi Sharon,
I'm a little slow getting over here. My sister is Mari from My little Corner of the World and I've seen you there. Right now I'm thankful that my husband has a job - due to the loss of so many in Michigan. I love Beth Moore and am in the middle of a Bible study of hers right now. She has got such insight into things.
    Thanks for hosting this giveaway.

  26. God kept our family together which I'm thankful for.
On the books I would say surprise me.

  27. God has shown me that I am a good teacher and can guide women to be deeper followers of God.

  28. This looks like a fun and profitable giveaway. I think I would choose "Feminine Appeal" by Carolyn Mahaney.

I have a lot to be thankful for this week. My father and brother survived a horrible accident on Wednesday with no injuries at all. Their vehicle rolled when they were hit by someone running a stop sign. The other driver was seriously injured. We are praying for him and thankful that God spared our guys.

  29. Sometimes I just have to step back and let God do the work. This lesson (painfully learned) is one of the greatest blessings that I have ever been given.

  34. God has taught me to be patient and that he has a plan- that will happen when his timing is right. my husband and i were trying to get pregnant and it took us almost 1 year...i tried almost everything and then in July, we found out that we were pregnant. i'm due in February with our first baby. it was all about God's timing.
